BLDC Hub Motor
Design
The motor is a custom 8110 BLDC motor that features an internal planetary gearbox. While tested and function many revisions have be made for the most recent design, intended for use on the team's 2026 rover.
Housing
The code structure and the housing are both 3D printed using PA12-CF provided to the team by Polymaker, providing both a surprisingly strong housing, but also more than heat resistant enough for the needs of the system
Rotor and Gears
While the nylon could withstand the needs of the housing, the actual rotor and the gears needed much higher strength, and thus have been produced by JLCCNC and JLC3DP out of steel.
